Skill Builder – Range Day

Pistol II Do you have some experience handling a firearm but want to sharpen your skills and increase your confidence in carrying and shooting a gun? If so, this course is for you. Starting with safety and firearm skills, we build on the foundations of shooting in this basic to intermediate course. If you’ve owned a gun for a while but never received formalized training, or if you want a refresher after not shooting in a while, we invite you to participate in this course.

This Course Covers:

  • Fundamentals of Marksmanship
  • Shooting positions
  • Dry fire drills
  • How to draw your pistol from a holster
  • How to safely perform mag changes from your mag pouch
  • Shoot & no-shoot scenarios and use of deadly force
  • Forward, rear, and lateral movement techniques
  • Load – reload – emergency drills
  • Movement while shooting
  • Shooting from behind cover

Realistic “Live” Training If you’re looking for more than the knowledge you learn in a classroom, this course provides real experience at an outdoor shooting range. The realistic training you receive teaches you how to safely carry a firearm and defend yourself and your family.

Requirements All students must complete the Range Day Orientation course before registering for this course. Additionally, to complete this course, students should supply their own firearms.

All students must bring a good belt and holster for their firearm, 3 magazines, and must supply 250 rounds of ammunition for use at the range. If you don’t have a firearm, one can be rented from Pilum.

*Members can attend both courses if they choose to shoot all day.

In enrolling at Pilum Defense Agency, participant understands that he/she attending the programs and using Pilum Defense Agency and the facilities does so at his/her own risk. Participants and parents assume full responsibility for all injuries and damages which occur in or about any programs on the premises, He/She does hereby fully and forever release discharged hold harmless Pilum Defense Agency, all associated facilities and its owner, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, damages or rights of action, present or future resulting from any person’s participation in any programs or use of the facility. In addition, he/she agree(s) to follow the rules of conduct set by Pilum Defense Agency. Failure to do so may result in suspension from participation. Consent: I the undersigned parent or guardian/participant do hereby grant authority to the staff at Pilum Defense Agency to render a judgement concerning medical assistance or hospital care in the event of an accident or illness during my absence. I do hereby authorize Pilum Defense Agency and its assigns to utilize any and all photographs, pictures or other likeness of me or anyone assigned guardianship to me, as they deem appropriate in its promotional materials or team films. By registering, you also agree to receive emails from Pilum Defense Agency.

COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION:

While participating in events held or sponsored by Pilum Defense Agency, LLC “social distancing” must be practiced and face coverings worn at all times to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19. Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, Pilum has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, Pilum cannot guarantee that its participants, volunteers, partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.

In light of the ongoing spread of COVID-19, individuals who fall within any of the categories below should not engage in Pilum events and/or other face to face fundraising activities. By attending a Pilum event, you certify that you do not fall into any of the following categories:

1. Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others;

2. Individuals who have traveled at any point in the past fourteen (14) days either internationally or to a community in the U.S. that has experienced or is experiencing sustained community spread of COVID-19; or

3. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.

All students will sign a COVID-19 Safety Acknowledgment — Liability Waiver and Release of Claims when attending the classroom instruction. Please wear a mask.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing (info@pilumdefense.com) or by phone at 303.306.4756. Student substitutions can be made at any time.

Cancellations received more than 72 hours prior to the class – Students will be eligible for a full refund or may transfer (moving the participant(s) to another class within a three-month period).

Cancellations received within the 24 to 72-hour window prior to the class – Students will not be eligible for a refund but will be eligible for a one-time class transfer (moving the participant(s) to another class within a three-month period), for $25 rescheduling fee.

Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to the class or failure to attend the class -Students will not receive a refund, nor will they be eligible for a class transfer. This includes weather-related, last minute cancellations.
